Breathtaking bookshelves

Candida Höfer published for Thames&Hudson a book of photographs of libraries. No people, no users, no readers. Just miles and miles of gorgeous-looking libraries among the best in the world.

Of course you can buy the book for GBP45 here, but fellow blogger The Nonist was kind enough to post some reproductions for our viewing pleasure; as his blog has been dugg, it is experiencing severe performance issues, so I am reposting those pictures here.
